The Truth About Diseases Transmitted Sexually - A Note

Sexually transmitted diseases (i.e STDs) are infectious diseases that are transmitted through sexual contact. STDs affect all backgrounds and ages of girls and guys who are having sex, it doesn't matter if they're rich or poor.

Unfortunately, STDs have become common among teens. Since teen-agers have increased risk for transmitting and obtaining sexually transmitted diseases, it's important to learn what you can do to protect yourself.

It's important to understand that STDs are more then an inconvenience. They're a important health concern. If untreated, some STDs can cause permanent damage, such as infertility (not being able to get pregnant) and even death (in the case of AIDS).
